Hi, I'm Karen, for Expert Village. Now you want to place your garment under the needle. You're going to place the foot, the zipper foot, as close to the zipper pull as possible, and, once I have it is position, I'm going to pull the pin out so my needle doesn't hit it, and then, with a large stitch, number 4 stitch length, we're going to baste the zipper tape to the seam allowance. And remove the pins as you go. Now, if the garment is pulling, you just want to release that pressure by moving it so that it's not pulling on the zipper as you're going. Take it slowly until you get to the end. Okay, you can remove it from the machine and cut the threads. And now you have, the zipper is sewn onto the seam allowance, and the zipper teeth should line up exactly with the center of the zipper opening seam.
