Hi, this is Matt on behalf of Expert Village, and today we're going to learn how to make Creme Brulee. Hi, today I'm going to show you how to make a dessert that is on the top of everyone's list. It's called Creme Brulee. Now I'd try to give you the history of it, like its origins, but unfortunately, France, England, and Spain are all trying to stake claims on this dessert. Regardless of who originated it, this dessert is awesome. The other great thing about this dessert, is if you're having a party or you're having guest over, and you bring this out after dinner, people are going to be very impressed because not many people make Creme Brulee. They just think that you can get it in a restaurant, but it's too hard to make. But look at the ingredients, there's really nothing here. And I'm going to show you how easy it is to make this dish. So let me show you what the actual ingredients are. Just four eggs, some vanilla extract, some heavy cream. This is actually two, one pint of heavy cream, and some brown sugar, and a little bit of salt. Okay, and some of the tools that we're definitely going to need are one small and one medium sized bowl, a baking pan, but with the sides that are kind of high because we're going to put water in it and we don't want the water to escape, a whisk, four custard cups, and our trusty, and this is the fun part, our trusty kitchen torch. Okay, so now that you know the ingredients and the tools that we need, let's start making our Creme Brulee.
Great intro! You are so RIGHT about your guests when you bring this out after dinner. They will not believe how awesome it is. I've had people actually eat TWO in a row. Yummm! My understanding is that this dessert was invented in England at Trinity College at Cambridge. It is a very old dish, and really quite AMAZING! Since I live in New York City, I learned to make this, because it is always over priced on the menus in good restaurants.
Yeah! You are right!
