Microphone & Line Recording for Computer Audio

Hi my name is Tony Ramirez from Tampa, Florida and on behalf of Expert Village This is Audio for your PC. Alright I know it may be a little bit difficult to see on camera but what we have here is this is actually the side of my laptop and we have a mic input and we have headphones output. Of course this will be used to send the signal out whether it is a set of headphones or to a speaker system. Of course through the headphones output. And then we have our mic input which will allow us to send in a mic or a line input. Of course a line input is usually powered by some other device whether it's a mixer or whatnot. So we can run it through here and we'll click a couple of settings in the computer to switch off the powered mic feature and actually get you a good clean sound. So if you want to do any recording you're going to go ahead and plug in like I said your mixer or your microphone if you're using a microphone to just you know chat online actually speaking, using your computer as a phone however it is. You will actually plug it into here. If your going to be using recording a guitar or whatnot you'll plug your guitar into your amp and then your amp into here. And then in the computer you'll go ahead and mess with the settings. So then again the headphones jack you will actually plug in your headphones or your speakers. And that?s the basis. So your actual desktop will have the same connections whether it's on board or your card itself and you can go ahead and record mic line in or you can just use your headphones or plug in your speakers into the output. And this is the recording feature for your mic line.
