Powered & Non-Powered Speakers for Computer Audio

Hi my name is Tony Ramirez from Tampa, Florida and on behalf of Expert Village this is Audio for your PC. Alright as I've been mentioning throughout these videos, a little bit about powered speakers and non powered speakers, or active and non active. Active meaning powered, non active meaning non- powered. So when your looking for a system you actually in my opinion you do want to get something that is active or powered. This will deliver a better, richer sound from your speakers especially if your using a point one system whether it's 5.1, 2.1 whatever it is. This one right here is, this is just for the standard 2.1. it's got the cable that controls everything just like this one here. This will actually go out to the speakers itself and will control the volume. On this one this is the actual sub woofer that draws all the power so we have our power cable right here this will actually be plugged into the wall or to your circuit breaker however you have your computer system set up. So and then we have our control for the volume of the sub woofer too to make the bass deeper, more louder. Of course your choice. So when buying a non active system you're actually dependent on the small amount of power that's coming out of your computer or your laptop to power the speakers so of course it's very very small and it doesn't allow the speakers to give a rich sound or even really that loud of a sound or if it does get pretty loud it'll actually be really high in pitch. And it won't have a crisp clear sound. So again in my opinion go ahead and get yourself a powered system. Whether it's a big surround sound system or just a good stereo system. This will give you a better sound when using your PC audio.
