How to Properly Use Fertilizer on Tulips
Hi, this is Yolanda Varveen on behalf of expert village. In this segment, we will talk about to fertilize or not to fertilize, that is the question. Most books, how to magazines, TV shows, and authors tell us that we need to fertilize our bulbs. In my experience, however, fertilizer does not work have as well as compost. I equate it to this: if you had a healthy diet, you had enough proteins, vegetables, fruits and water in your diet you would not need vitamins. The same with your plants if you give them a good diet of compost. They really don’t need fertilizer. It really doesn’t accomplish a thing. Many fertilizer are high in nitrogen with makes your plant lanky with encourage growth and a lot of times it slows them down from blooming because it is actually the phosphate that make them bloom. A little bit of compose will go a long way and you set your tulip bulbs in a pot or the ground with just good compose and not fertilizer. I think in the end, you will find that you have the most beautiful tulips in the whole neighborhood. In my garden, I don’t really use fertilizer. In this next segment, let’s talk about bone mill.
