Hi, I'm Carmen Lynne with Expert Village. So now I'm going to talk about the second stage of dreaming, which is called the precognitive state. This is the stage that's happening in the middle of the night. This is the time when maybe you wake up from the dream in the middle of the night, 1 AM, 2 AM, this is the precognitive stage. Now what's happening? What is the subconscious doing? Well this is when the subconscious is trying to predict what's going to happen the next day based on what has happened in the past. So that's why we call it precognitive. This is why you maybe, you might have had this experience of having a dream that comes true. I know I've had that experience, perhaps you have too. Where you've had a dream, usually in the middle of the night, and you've found that the next day or in the next few days that something the same or very similar happens to you. So that is why we call it the precognitive stage. Again, that is happening in the middle of the night usually, and that is the second of the three dreaming stages. It also lasts for ninety minutes and you're also in REM, which is rapid eye movement sleep.
