How to Start a Fire for Wood-Burning Fireplaces
Hi! This is John. Now we are going to be looking at starting the fire. As you can see we have just a little starter fire here with the fire starter going. You always want to make sure this flute is open. You have a lever right here that will close it and a lever right here that will open it; left is closed and the right is open. Make sure that is open at all times. What you will need to do is take and put the wood above the flame, just a few pieces, to get it going. What that will do is it will cause the heat to transfer right in here. It will heat the bottom of this wood up and in a few moments it will be igniting.
