Gain Tips on the Four Open Acoustic Guitar Chords

Hi, this is Tom and I'm doing this video for ExpertVillage.com, and we're talking about how we can play the guitar with just four chords. In this installment we're just going to review the four chords, and just some reminders when you're playing each of those four chords. First of all, when you're putting your fingers down, remember to put your fingers in between the frets and actually just behind the metal fret, that will give you the clearest sound. So I've got my "G" chord here that I'm playing, and my fingers are all tucked in, just behind the frets, and I play all the strings, all six strings. Or the "C", and on the "C" chord I'm only playing five strings, so I leave this bottom string out. I just play these five higher strings. And again, my fingers tucked in just behind the middle frets. A "D" chord, I only play these four strings, so these two larger strings I don't play. There's your "D" chord. And then the "E Minor", again my fingers tucked in just behind the fret and I strum all the strings. So when you're practicing those chords, make sure that you play the right number of strings and your fingers are placed in just behind the fret.
