About Ballet Competition Teams

This is Linda Brown on behalf of Expert Village. The next thing that I would like to talk with you about in consideration for choosing a ballet school for your child is competitions teams. Many studios have a strong focus on competition teams. This can be a great thing. If your child is into competition and enjoys that, they probably will be drawn to that as they see that at the studio. It can be a lot of fun. It can be a great way to progress in their dance career, but it can also be expensive for you, the parent, and for the family. You need to determine how much you can budget into your family budget for competition. There are costumes to be paid for, their travel expenses, weekend that would have to be committed to attending competition. However, there are so much that your child can benefit from and can learn from the experience. However, if your child is not one that enjoys competition and instead wants to learn more about ballet and enjoy the experience without competing, you want to make sure that the school can cater to that child. You want to make sure that they will be learning the proper technique and they will not be over looked as the focus is on competition.
