Hi! This is Linda Brown coming to you today on behalf of Expert Village. I'd like to talk to you now about checking out those teachers; finding out what their bios are all about. What is their experience? What is their teaching certification? What is their teaching method? A parent might believe that the professional dance experience is the most important thing, but that's not necessarily the case. There are many incredibly good ballet instructors that have never performed with a large dance company. It's most important that the instructor be able to teach the proper technique and body alignment in a way that the student can learn. You do not want you child to suffer an injury due to improper teaching, or do you want them to have to unlearn improper technique. Websites for the studio will generally give you a good bio on that teacher, listing their certifications and their performance history. I would suggest that you to that site, do some research before you go to the studio to find out if that teacher has the certifications that you would like to see them have, and to find out what their background their experience is.
