How to Pick a Ballet Class Instructor for Kids

Hi! This is Linda Brown and I'm coming to you on behalf of Expert Village. The next thing that I'd like to talk about in choosing a ballet school for your daughter or your son, is watching the teacher. Observe what their style is. Does the teacher inspire child? Does she help them become for confident? Is she encouraging to them even if she knows in her heart that a large percentage of them will not dance as a career, but she can still teach them confidence, elegance, flexibility, discipline, and self-esteem. Dance should be a type of stress reliever for a child, as opposed to a new source of tension or frustration. Make sure that the teacher is in control of the class and that she's encouraging to be expressive in their movements, but that's she's not condescending in her approach. Is she patient? Is he or she a good role model for the children in the classroom and outside of the classroom? Is she knowledgeable in the type of dance that she's teaching? The class time should not be chaotic. The teacher should clearly be in charge without having to raise his or her voice.
