Applying Blush for Elegant, Chic Makeup

I’m Kelly on behalf of Expert Village. I’m going to show you some tips and techniques that you can use to create a black dress chic look. So next thing we’re going to do is we’re going to apply a little pop of color to the apples of her cheeks. So we’re going to use just this nice, soft shade of pink. We’re going to use our contoured blush brush which has a little bit of an angle. We’re going to concentrate most of color right on the apples and we’ll just lightly blend it on the cheekbone to define her cheekbone. And if you’ll smile for me; the apples of your cheeks are the round part that you get when you smile, so that’s where you want to make sure you concentrate most of your color. And if you’re unsure of where it starts, it's usually about 2 fingers away form the nose as well so that’s a good guideline that you can use. So we’re just going to concentrate most of the color to the apples of the cheeks, slightly define the cheekbone. One thing you want to remember too is since this is a black dress look, or more formal look, if you are wearing a black dress it's going to have the tendency to wash you out so you might want to go a little bit stronger on your cheek color or your cheek color application. So that’s how you’ll want to apply a blush.
