Go Kart Gas

Hi, this is Tommy for Expert Village. We're going to talk a little bit about fuels today. Fuels, there's different kinds of karts and different karts take different fuels. Most all of the shifters take a high, a high octane fuel such as C-12, the TAG stuff takes a MS-98, the reason we use racing fuels, is because of the different stuff they stick in regular gasoline. We use a meter to make sure that you are not cheating on fuel, and the, the additives in regular gasoline will make the meter go off, so generally we have to use racing fuels. VP is the one that we use mostly, and you can buy it at any good motorcycle shop or go-kart shop. You have a hard time buying it at a gas station. Now if you are just practicing, where you're not racing, you could use a high test such as, like the Shell V-power, that's usually what I tell people. But you use so little gasoline, you're just as well off learning to tune, because tuning is different which gasoline?s that you use, so with the racing gas you might as well just run it all the time and then your tuning is better. The gas runs about fifty dollars a five gallon pail, and usually I only sell it in five gallon pails, because I don't like to pump it and if you have fifty five gallon drums your shop has to have a special permit to carry fifty five gallon drums and pump the fuel. There are race shops around that have it that way, we only sell it this way.
