Go Kart Racing Motor

Hi, this is Tommy and I'm speaking on behalf of Expert Village. We're talking about motors. There's different classes of motors. We have all the way from junior motors to adult motors, and in the adult motors there's different classes. We have motors that are Brigs powered--or carts that are Brigs powered--all the way to the Tag motors and all the way up to the Shifter motors. All the different motors usually have different classes that they have, and you race against other people running the same type of motor. You kind of have to decide what kind of racing is in your area, and what kind of motors they're using. It's very--different parts of the country use different kind of motors. We use a lot of Shifters here, we use a lot of Tags here. The Tags are the electric start, the Shifters are the ones that you shift. There's also another class called the Rotax, which is also a Tag, and they race those worldwide. They run a long time and they're very controlled on what they can do to the motors. A lot of the classes are controlled, and they have certain specs as to what you can do. This is back to the 125 Shifter, these are the king of the hill. They are the fastest there are, and they are very fast. They're faster than a lot of race cars. In the quarter mile they'll run 14-0s without any problem at like ninety-six miles an hour. The motors last depending on how highly modified they are, as to how often you have to rebuild them. Some of the stock stuff you can run almost all year without rebuilding it. The highly modified stuff you can run a couple of months. They have what they call an ICA motor, which is the ultimate high performance 100cc, and they run up in the range of 24,000rpm, and you basically have to rebuild it every time you run it. So, when they go to races they probably have three or four motors that they use at those races. Very expensive racing at that level.
