How To Apply A Fake Mustache

Hi! This is Cable. We are going to talk about some tips and tricks for Halloween makeup. Another simple thing you can do for costume ideas is just wear a fake mustache. There is a bunch of different types of fake mustache and facial hair out there. Some are just basically shapes of felt with adhesive on it, but for a few dollars more, say, you can go to a costume supply store, or order specialty mustaches on online; say $10-$12 you can a get much more realistic looking mustache. Things that you will need to apply the mustache will be: a fake mustache of your choice, some adhesives, such as spirit gum or prosthetic adhesive, and the Q-Tip. The first thing you want to do is measure the mustache on the lip; and just it hold it up to your subject and estimate how much of the upper lip is going to need adhesive. Next apply the adhesive to the skin, not to the mustache… let it dry until the adhesive starts to get a little bit clear. After the adhesive is setup a little bit, then you can size the moustache and press it firmly against the skin. You can hold it for a few seconds, until the adhesive grips the lace of the mustache.
