Go Kart Racing Rib Protection

Hi, my name is Tommy and I'm speaking on the behalf of Expert Village. We're going to talk about rib protectors today in this clip. This is a Sparkco. This is an SFI approved. This is for junior carts. Anyone up to the age of 12 has to have a rib protector to race and it's not so much the rib protector, it's the chest protection. Because of the soft sternum and the fact that you can hit the steering wheel and hurt yourself there. These are actually removable, the front is, and they clip on. It gives you chest protection on the side, which is a hard material here, rib protection. The g-forces are very intense and that's why you need the rib protection for you ribs against the seat. And then the chest protector, which is in the front, gives you protection in case of an accident. They also have a little bit of protection for your spine in the rear. And there's a couple different brands. Sparkco makes one and this is an SFI approved. Also the Armadillo brand is also SFI approved and it has, basically the chest protection inside. Instead of the other way, where it's a piece that goes on outside of it. It also gives you protection in the back for your spine and for your sides.
