How to Oxidize Hair for Coloring

On behalf of Expert Village my name is Elizabeth Muller form Liz's hair design in Hollywood Florida. And today were showing you how to do color on relaxed hair. When you're done applying the color up to the point that you want it which is at mid shaft I went ahead and applied it to mid shaft I?m going to go ahead and open this hair because I need it to oxidize I need it to open up hear and get the color go ahead and deposit that color you don't want to keep it closed I don't believe in keeping color closed up it doesn't deposit properly. You need that oxidation to open that cuticle and make sure the color processes right go ahead and open it up. I don't like to comb relaxed hair with color it's just not good for the hair and if the hair is weak her hair is a little stronger than some but if you have relaxed hair and your hair is weak it's got that really fine texture to it because there is all types of relaxed hair there could be a strand or a head of hair that could be stronger than others. Then you are going to have a problem if you going to put a comb in it because you are going to pop that hair off it's really delicate so you want to open it up with your fingers only.
