Pre-Flight for Ultralight Trike

CHAD BASTIAN: Hi, this is Chad Bastian, welcome to Expert Village. We're here to talk about the trike buggy and PPG triking with paragliders. Alright, in this clip, we're going to discuss our preflight. So every time before we go flying, being a pilot, we kinda want to check everything while we're on the ground not discover it while we're in air. I use an acronym for my preflight and it is: one, two, three, A, B, C, D. And that it is I'm going to check that I have one strap attached in my helmet to my head, two, that I have two carabiners attached properly to the glider, routed over through their proper things. Three, would be normally three harness attachments, in this case, it's just my seatbelt. It's the third thing that I checked and that is that I fasten my seatbelt when I'm in the trike. A is the air, can always check the air before I go flying. B is my being. I'm going to check how I feel. Maybe I've got a toothache or I'm mad at the guy who cut me off in the freeway. Let's clear our minds so we can fly. If we're not clear or we're not a one hundred percent here, we really should probably think about not flying. C is clear. We've cleared our lines and we're going to clear the air. We're going to look that no one is flying by us while we're launching or getting ready to launch. So we clear the air as well. And D is Do a radio check. This is an action item and I say D is Do. Do the radio check with our buddies, make sure we can hear each other before we fly. And I actually continue on into E and F, with E is take a moment to enjoy the fact that you're about to take flight. It's kind of a unique opportunity for us to enjoy something that is just a unique recreational opportunity. And F is let's go fly.
