What is an Ultralight Trike Buggy?

CHAD BASTIAN: Hi, this is Chad Bastian, welcome to Expert Village. We're here to talk about the trike buggy and PPG triking with paragliders. In this clip, we're going to ask the question what is a trike buggy. Trike buggy is simply a PPG trike, that is a powered paragliding trike, that uses a paramotor, a simple paramotor, a foot launched paramotor attached to a trike with a regular paraglider that allows you to achieve flight with basically the same glider that you would use if you were free flying. It's an ultralight in the U.S., classified under FAR 103, which is ultralight, legal. We're under 254 pounds. It's also sometimes called a microlight or a nanolight. So, these are all different versions of this ultralight vehicle which is very lightweight aircraft.
