Transporting a Powered Paraglider

Welcome to Expert Village. My name is Hugh Murphy with Surf the Sky Paragliding. In this clip, we'll be talking about transporting your para motor. Obviously, there'll be variations depending on the size of your motor and what type of vehicle you have. In one case scenario with a small vehicle/large motor, you can always put a rear bumper rack. Fortunately, in this situation, we have a small motor and a big van. So, the job is somewhat easy. Once the unit is inside, however, you do want to use motorcycle tie down straps to just secure it to one area. So, when you go over the bumps, the motor stays upright and solid. Okay. So, I'm going to position the motor around so that I can nail it down the best. And, you'll also notice, again, we're using our plywood. In case there is any fuel coming out at all, any spillage, the plywood will protect the car. And then, at this point, we simply attached the motorcycle tie down straps to a secure point and snug it down. Then, we'll do this on both sides and secure it from as many positions as you can that really holds it down solid.
