Launching a Powered Paraglider

Welcome to Expert Village. My name is Hugh Murphy with Surf the Sky Paragliding. In this clip, we're going to talk about the launch sequence. So, the paraglider will be laid out in front of me, clipped to my carabiners. With a throttle in my hand, I will grab the leading edge lines of the paraglider and the brake likes. As I step back to pull up a reverse, I'll have the paraglider cleanly over my head. And, once it's clean in the breeze, I turn for my launch run. At this point, giving full throttle to help me with the speed making it easier to run. As I'm running, I hold full throttle and I gently lift off the ground holding full throttle until approximately forty or fifty feet off the ground. At that point, it'll be safe to mellow out on the throttle, slide myself into the seat for a nice, long, comfortable flight.
