How to Style Thick Men's Hair

Hi, my name is Teri Lynne and I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. I'm here with David O'Donnell. And in this segment, we're going to be talking about tips for thick hair. Now, as you can see, David has a nice thick head of hair. And that's a great thing. It's never a bad thing to have thick hair. But sometimes it can be really hard for him to manage. Because it is a lot of hair to deal with and sometimes it can do things that he doesn't want it to do. So, as my recommendation to you, is when you go to your hairdresser to get your hair cut, if you have really nice, thick hair, ask for them to a) thin it for you. And they just take special shears, thinning shears. And what that does is, it just takes out some of the fullness in your hair. And it won't lay so thick at the bottom. The other thing you want to do is make sure, short or long hair, it doesn't matter, on a male is that if you have thick hair, you want a layered cut. So you don't want the hair to be all one length. As you can see, there's like, it's cut with different layers especially in the back. And that way, it doesn't just lie as one big pile. It's going to lie in layers, causing the hair not to look so thick. As well, really, if you have thick hair, you want to make sure you're combing or brushing it because if you just let it air dry, it's often going to get really poofy. So, even just a nice comb or brush through your hair, with your hair thinned and layered, can make it a lot more manageable and a lot more tame. That's how you manage thick hair.
