Family Support Tips for a Home Office

Hello! My name is Melissa Schenk and on behalf of Expert Village, today we're going to talk about how to design the home office of your dreams. In our final clip, let's talk now about family support. I know that we've been talking a lot about building the home office of your dreams, but your family because you work out of your home, it's your home office of your dreams, it's so important to be considering family support. By that I mean your family needs to support you. Because you're working at home, they need to support you and respect the fact that you are working out of your home, that you do need to make phone calls, that you can't be interrupted. You need to figure out maybe some rules, you might want to call them, to develop with your spouse or your children especially, because your children will need to know that they can come to you, but maybe if you're on the phone that they have to wait. If you're on the computer, they have to perhaps a few moments, that they can't come crashing through the door, especially if you have clients in your office as well. It's really important to sort of set the ground rules right off the start when you're working out of your home with your family, and get that support you need.
