How to Pick a Home Office Space

Hello! My name is Melissa Schenk and on behalf of Expert Village, today we're going to talk about how to design the home office of your dreams. In this clip, let's talk about a separate office space. Having a separate office space is important when it comes to your home business. I have my own home business. We work out of our home as a production company and also as a marketing company, but you have a couple of things to consider. Are your clients going to be coming to you? When you're designating a space for yourself, is it for you only or are clients going to be coming to it? In our location and our space, we have 2 home offices. One is located downstairs, which is our edit suite and our edit bay. The office that we're in here upstairs we're going to be transforming, which you'll see in each of these clips, into a home office that is just really for my husband and I. We don't have people coming into it, so what we're doing in this space is taking an old room and we've just brought in some things here now. We're going to make it into our dream home office. You have to think about the space that you're going to be working in and the access that you'll be needed. I've been to many peoples home offices where sometimes their home office is their kitchen table. It doesn't necessarily work, but you have to think about your needs and what's going to work best for you.
