Cleaning the Springfield XD 9mm Handgun Guide Rod with Break Free

Alright so we've got all of our pieces here to the XD9 broken down and you can see these four individual parts or components here now that they're taken down and I'm just going to, we got out break free here . What we're going to do is we're just going to lubricate piece by piece. I'm going to start with my guide rod here. Shake my break free up a little bit. Alright, I'm going to take my guide rod in my left hand and I'm just going to kind of give it a good squirt with the break free. Just kind of spin it. Now what I'm going to do is I'm going to take that guide rod into my hand and I am just going to by hand rub that break free in. I'm going to make sure that each coil is covered in break free and the guide rod itself is covered in break free. What I'm also looking for is when I'm rubbing into hat break free I'm kind of looking to see if I get any extra dirt or grit on my fingers, which I'm not, but if I did I could kind of determine where I'd need to use a little more TLC. Maybe scrub it a little bit better, clean it a little bit better, and maybe try to figure out why I'm getting so much in one particular area and not the other. Okay I've got that all coated up with the break free so next thing we're going to do is we're going to get out the barrel and we're going to do the same thing with the outside of the barrel.
