Okay, we are going to talk a little bit about basic firearm safety when it comes to cleaning and working with our firearm in general. As you can see here we don't have any ammunition for the 45 long. So the next thing that we are going to do is we are actually going to pick up the firearm and on this we are just going to open up this loading gate here. Open that towards the camera and we are just going to spin free, free spin the cylinder. Now this is a single action and most single action would let you free spin. Now if you, on your Blackhawk it may be a older model you may have to actually physically quarter cock it the hammer. But we are just going to free spin the cylinder here. We are going to make sure that there is no rounds in the cylinder. It is a 6 shot but I usually go, I spin it double just to make sure I have not over looked anything. I can see that I have not got any and you just want to remember that we want to keep these firearms pointed in a safe direction. We know that there is no ammunition here but treat every firearm as if it is loaded. But since we don't know or we know that this not a loaded firearm as we just check we are going to go ahead and we are going to move towards our first step in disassembly.
