How to File State Taxes Online

Hello everyone. Terry Bowden with Expert Village. Today we're talking about filing our taxes online. Now we went through the process of our Federal tax return, and personal information, and we reviewed it. Now, it's on to the State, ok? Now the automatic transfer of your Federal info will be going to your state. There will be an interview to determine if you qualify for additional State deductions, and the error checking of your State return. Course, e-filing, you get your return faster, and that's why we're here, correct? To e-file our return, ok? Now there is going to be an option to file additional returns in other states. So whatever state you're at, is what you'll be filing your taxes in. Now the one thing about the Turbo Tax and the IRS forms and their providers, is it takes the data from, that we originally punched in, and converts it to the State. So you don't have to go through all the personal information, all over again. I'm telling you, software's incredible. Now we're going to skip a state, because of course I don't know what state you're in. You know that. And then they want a little bit more information. Like I said, all that goes in here, and what you want to do is, you want to go in and look at all your information that you first put in, and make sure that it is all correct. After that, you continue through, and you go to the print and file section. It'll take you right on in to it. And of course, it's not going to let us go to that page because we don't have the information in there. But here will give you an overview of everything. You make sure everything is correct. Double check your numbers, double check your figures. Very, very important, ok? Look, this is your return, and this is your money. And plus, if you get audited, you want to make sure it was all correct. After that, you print and file, and you're on your way.
