How to Use a Bucket Gun

We talked about knives, the different size utility knives, and spackling knives that we use. One thing that we have to adjust is that you need something you carry the mud on. In my years of doing this, I have seen very many ways of people applying mud to a surface. Some use a trowel, others use a hawk. Me personally, I like what?s called using a mud bucket. It?s very clean; you don't have anything off the sides. It?s easy to handle, you can fit it in one hand, grip the bottom of it and hold it. As you're using your knife, you take your mud inside your bucket; it?s got a good straight surface, scrape the mud off, put your mud up. Always make sure that you keep a nice clean knife as you're doing drywall. You do not want to put it on in loads. This bucket here will help minimize the excessive use of mud. When you're all finished, everything comes apart nicely, this here all comes apart, you want to get everything all nice and clean and put your tools back the way they were when you first started the job so you can use them for the next job.
