Outlets that use the 'push and lock' method of connecting the wires have been shown to have a higher potential for starting electrical fires. The spring clip that holds the wire in place loses tension over time, which worsens the electrical connection. This can lead to a poor connection, which leads to ohmic heating of the connection which can become white-hot. Only outlets using screw type connections should be used. Wiring New Outlets Continued
So once you get your wires stripped this particular type of outlet you just push the wires into the holes in the back. So you slide them in and they will stay. There are releases back here that you need to hold while you are putting them in and also if you need to pull them back out again. Generally, these are all going to be noted. This one actually says white and black. Sometimes it will say white and hot. Go with the black one first; stick it in the hole, push it all the way in and it should be locked in place and then the ground. The ground goes around the green screw and you will want to twist the end of your wire sot it kind makes a half circle. Slide that all around and tighten down the screw.
