If you are an engineer, I think you're putting yourself out there with a lot of liability in giving this expert advice on stripping wire. I was taught how to strip wire freshman year in high school. You should explain to people the risk of fire involved in improperly stripping wire. You should teach them the importance of not knicking or grooving a ring into the copper conductor. Current travels on the outter surface of conductors. The will be significant heat built up if you damage the conductor. This could lead to disaster.

How to Strip Wire to Install an New Electrical Outlet

So we are going to go ahead and strip this wire like we did earlier. So here to strip this wire we are using the wire strippers that are part of this particular set of pliers. You can get plier strippers that have a whole series of different size wires. There are just two on here that happen to work; a larger one. So you just clip it around, wire and swing it back and forth several times and then you can just pull on the wire from the coating itself. It should pull off. The longer piece that you are trying to strip makes it a little more friction from pulling it. Just twist it back and forth several times.
