Fondant Decorating Tips
Hi, I'm Karen for Expert Village. I'm going to decorate the box with some hearts. I'm going to use, I took the blue that I had and made it a little bit darker, I added some more color and made it a little bit darker. And I'm going to cut out some different sized hearts and just decorate my box. Use a little bit of water for glue. Figure out where you want to put them and just rub a little bit of water there. And we'll just carefully place them. You can just smooth that on. And we'll continue around the whole box. So we'll just wet the area. I'm planning on putting a strip of ribbon here, so I'm not going to put the hearts there. And again you're just rolling this out. When you are doing the design element, you can just roll the fondant a little bit thinner, because you are just gluing it on there. Do some small ones. The toothpick is handy to poke the designs out if they don't want to come out. Especially with the smaller cookie cutters. You only need a tiny bit of water to glue the fondant on to the cake. And you want to be careful not to use too much water. Oops I lost my wet there. And just tamp it down lightly with some kind of a smoothing tool.
