Hi! This is John again. One of the things you want to be mindful of is your casting temperature. If you have your metal too hot, it will take too long for the bullets to harden. If you have it too cold, they won’t fill out your mold. Try to have it around 500-600 degrees, roughly. When you first turn on your furnace, you need to have it up all the way hight to melt your lead. Then you need to have it set to around between 5 and 6, which is roughly about a medium range temperature. This will enable that your bullet will be harden in enough time and also it will fill out the mold like it should. If you notice one of the things, if your bullets are cast it may be have a frosted appearance, they’ve been too hot. Also, if they have a wrinkled appearance it shows that they are not filling out the mold, it shows that your temperature is a little bit too cool. Try to have it in the mid range. If you have casted a few bullets you can tell about what you should be getting, nice, shiny, sharp edged bullet.
