How to Use a Reciprocating Saw

Hi, my name is Ed Reyes with Master Builders here in Tampa, Florida and we are representing Expert Village. We are going to show you how to use a reciprocating saw properly. Now the proper way to cut this board would be to start at this angle, not this angle. You come this way and work your way down. Always having your arm across the top and variable speed. You will see that I worked it almost like a saw, moving your hand back and forth. The reason we do that is to keep the blade from being burnt and you will also get a smoother cut that way. When you are cutting inside a wall, you might have to this way, you do as you need to do but it is best to rub it back and forth. This is basically how you cut with a saw.
