Tools for Starting a Friction Fire

Hi, I'm Mark Sullivan for Expert Village. And today you are going to learn how to start a fire with friction. Today we will show you how to start a fire with just a stick. So, and a string and maybe a knife if you have one. So, the idea is, if you're a cast away. Let's say you are a cast away on a deserted island and you need to start a fire. Hopefully you will have a knife. If you don't have a knife, you will need to get a sharp stone. Whittle it down until it's sharp. Fortunately, we have a regular utility knife here. So, we are lucky we have this on our desert island. So, the next thing we are going to do is gather some vines. We don't have to do that, fortunately we have some string that we are going to use. This is jute twin, so we are going to use this. If this doesn't work, we will go to some small rope here.
