How to Use the Mounting Stand on a Motorized Miter Saw

Hi, this is Ed Reyes from Master Builders from Tampa, Florida. On behalf of Expert Village, this is how you use and maintain a miter saw. We are going to talk a little bit about the stand itself that holds the machine. This is a stand that is foldable. It has 4 wheels and little bitty buttons that you push in and they are depressed. You can carry with the handle under here. When you open it, you basically push the button and it opens up the legs and they will clip in. You have adjustable slides here that will slide out to hold longer pieces of wood on both sides. We recommend you don't use them unless you actually have longer boards. The smaller the better. This is made out of metal and it is very light weight. The actual saw itself has these yellow mounts that mount through the saw and they have these little black depressible levers that clip into the stand and this piece comes with the stand. So this piece is made for this stand. It mounts to the saw and it clips underneath and you clip it down with this little black handle on the back and you are in business. Basically you want to make sure that this stand stays on level ground. You don't want to have it at an angle any way or one leg seeping into the ground more than the other. That could be potentially hazardous. So always make sure that you have a steady solid ground before you start working. The saw is very heavy and when you install it, the best thing to do is to close it up and lock it so that this is locked and tighten up this slide so that it doesn't go forward or backward, it doesn't go up or down. It makes it easier to install and makes it easier to mount and it is a lot safer. I highly recommend that you proceed to lock all these features down before you mount the saw onto the table. Once you have that done, then you can release everything and you are back in business and you've got your saw ready to run.
