The Object of the Game of Backgammon
Hi! I am Grady Johnson and I am a competition backgammon player and today I am representing expertvillage.com. Now I would like to talk a little bit about the object of this game. The object of any game of course is to win and we all want to know how we do that. So when you are playing the game if you looked at the previous section or if you are just simply aware, the game will be set up as you see it is here. This is the set up that you are always going to need to do when you are playing a standard backgammon game. Now the object of the game obviously is to win but we are going to want to go over how we exactly to do that. Remember if you’ll remember before in the earlier section, we went over a couple of things. This is our home board, this is our outer board, this is our opponent’s home board and this is our opponent’s outer board. Now our object of this game is to bear all of our stones, which are the darker color all the way around until they all bear off to our home board. So our goal is to bring all of our tiles into our home board and then bear them off. So the object of this game is to bear off all of your stones before the opponent does. There are some other things that are going to occur along the way of course and we will be getting into that in some of the later sections but remember this, the object of backgammon is to bear off all of your stones before your opponent.
