How to Install a Dry Filter on a Shop Vac

Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip, I'll be installing our dry filter. To ensure proper filtration while vacuuming dust and other dry materials, we need to install this dry filter and that is going to help clean our air. If we take a look at our dry filter we have this target in the center, that target is going to need to be centered on top of our foam filter. You're going to go ahead and set that in place and just start kind of folding that down the sides, make sure I got it properly centered. Next we need to find our mounting ring and slip that over the top of that dry filter and make sure that gets all the way down as far as it will go. Now if we're switching to picking up any type of wet materials or liquids, all we need to do is take off that retaining ring and that dry filter and it's a must that you take both of those off and only have that foam filter on.
