How to Search for Music in Rhapsody

I'm Nick Brasco on behalf of Expert Village and in this segment we're going to learn how to browse and search for music in Rhapsody and also how to preview tracks. So now we are going to learn how to search and browse for music using the Rhapsody software. So when you first sign in to Rhapsody, this is what you'll see. It's the a "What's New" tab and lots of new artists and albums and things going on. If we want to search for a particular artist or song or anything, we can do that up here where it says search. And there is a search box and we can choose to search by artist, keyword, track, album or composer. So let's say I want to search by artist. And I type in the artist's name. And then go ahead and hit search. What this does is this will bring up a whole kind of homepage on the artist. You will see the artist's name. On the left hand side you will see their albums, all the albums that Rhapsody has in their library. And this scrolls. This includes their main releases, singles and EPs and compilations as well as others. Up here at the top you can kind of see what genres and sub-genres they are filed under. For example here is the music guide and then it goes "electronica and dance' and then it goes 'house'. There is a photo of the artist, a brief biography. On the right hand side there is an artist channel where you can here this artist's music as well as music by similar artists. There is also a box for 'Similar Artists'. If you like this artist and like lets say you're new to their type of music and you like it and you want to hear more artists by this type of music, then this would be a good place to go. Right here in the center after you scroll down you will see top tracks and these are the top five most popular played and purchased tracks on Rhapsody by this artist. You will also see some links to music videos by this artist. And if you keep scrolling down, you will see the top albums on Rhapsody by this artist and the top play lists. So if we go up to the middle here, where it says 'top tracks', if you notice the little arrow pointing to the right and if you hover your mouse over it, it says 'play now'. If we go ahead and hit that, the song will immediately begin to play. And that concludes the segment on searching and browsing for music in Rhapsody.
