Let's talk about hair. Doesn't mine look nice? No, no, we're not going there. We're going to talk about doll hair. Doll hair is important because it helps to age a doll and it helps to increase or decrease the value when you grade them. These dolls are all composition dolls. Let's start with this type of hair. None. This is hair that is kind of like in the mold. So that's probably a little bit older. You can tell by that, you don't really need worry to about hair line because it's right on its head and there as a part of his face. So, that one's in good condition. Then we have some other interesting hair samples. This particular doll has scary human hair. Yikes! This is another hair that we used in the forties in composition dolls. Another doll may have mohair. Remember your favorite mohair sweater? Yes, this is the same composition. It makes me itch just touching it. Here's the little mohair and you look at the hairline to make sure none of the hair has been torn away or it's not being separated from the top of the little head. I hate it when they lose their head hair. Not good. And over here, this is more of a synthetic hair. You can even see the little seam at the top of her head. She's a little hair brained. So, this is a little hair and she's looking okay in the hairline, as well. But hers is fake hair but we still love her. And all these composition hair is from the forties so look at your hair and make sure it's all there.
