How to Play Trumps in Euchre

We have the expression. Never send a boy to do a mans work. It can't be better illustrated in cards than this particular example. Here is your partner; I mean here is, sorry. This is you playing this nice hand up here and this is your partner and he happens to be void in hearts. His other cards are irrelevant. Low and behold, he happens to be void in hearts. What he does is that he leads the ace of hearts and he just decides to get this piece of cheese in. Unfortunately, he over trumps and he has to follow and low and behold, something went wrong here. They got rooked out of a trick. Now let's go back here and again keep in mind that he doesn't have any clubs and he doesn't have any hearts. Say for example instead of that position, he leads the ace of hearts and your partner decides to trump him. This a club now, with the jack of clubs. His queen is shut out. His queen is absolutely shut out. Right.? He can't overtake with this. So he plays a small one and now you get rid of the king of hearts and the rest of your hand is good. Furthermore, doesn't your partner feel really good about you?re having trump with the left? Therefore, when you send out this piece of cheese, don't use a little baby trump. Trump with the big one, even if that forces out a bigger one. Let's just say that he didn't have the right here, he had it here. Isn't it great to get this one out and this one out and you can pretty much clean up the hand. So use the big trump if you've got a big one and a little one. Don't hide it from your partner.
