Guitar Solo Variation Exercises

Hi, I'm Mike Lais. And on behalf of Expert Village, I bring you soloing tips and techniques. Here's an exercise for you that should help you with developing your soloing. Basically the way this works is you're just going to pick a lick, one that you've learned off a page, or one that you made up yourself. Whatever it is. And then you just play it over and over again. But each time that you play it, put a slight variation into it using one of the tools that we learned before. For example, if you slid to a note, then try bending to the note. If you tried it with just a single note, play a double stop, where you would play a single note. Use your hammer-ons and your pull-offs and then the vibrato. So, for an example, we'll just do this here.
