How to Send Your Documents to the Copyright Office
Hi, I'm Nathan Baehme, writer and film director with Expert Village. And this series is all about copyrights. Now some people might be worried about the packaging of their submitted material, and they should be. The security measures that are in place at the copyright office, not to mention the tender loving care that the United States Postal Service takes with your submission can cause damage to your submitted work, and therefore make it unsubmittable. So here's what you do. To avoid damage to your deposit caused by security measures, place the following items in boxes rather than envelopes when mailing them in. Electronic media such as videos. CDs or DVDs, photographs, color photocopies and other print items that are rubber based. It might cost a penny or two more in shipping, but anything worth doing is worth doing right.
