Tips for Collecting 1960 Life Magazines

The year is 1960, here comes Nixon. "Balloons soar as the Nixon's begin their campaign". So you notice now they are starting to be in color. That's pretty exciting. And, as you notice, balloons have been going on for a long time. They still happen. They still fall down from the sky. This particular story is shows Nixon shaking hands with everyone in the political party, and someone had the interesting idea to show him shaking every single hand, and it's a story about how one campaigns and how stressful it is to keep shaking. Here is a great one! A real crown for a boxing king, Floyd Patterson. This shows Floyd Patterson adjusting his crown as his wife Sandra admires. Isn't that amazing. "Beaming champ showing off crown with the initials F.P. are shaped in white gold set with 85 diamonds." Wouldn't you love to find that. If you could find that you'd never work again in this lifetime or in any future lifetime, if you believe you have more. Here is the closing. You know they started with those cute shots. Let me just point out a couple of things. A cool babe who has it made in his little donut float. On this particular donut float you see images of Disney characters. So this float, if you could find it today, would also be very valuable. A vinyl float, you've got Mickey over here and Donald over here, and we've got a kid in there who is just happy as can be in his swimming pool. What else, make a float with Coke, the pause that refreshes.
