How to Protect Hands when Washing Dishes

Hi! This is Grace Fitzpatrick here on behalf of Expert Village. I am going to talk to you about using gloves when you are washing the dishes by hand. I am sure a lot of you have heard the expression dish pan hands and this expression didn't come from no where. Basically it means when you have been washing the dishes for a long time by hand and you are not using any gloves. Your hands tend to get wrinkly and they look basically like raisins. All the moisture is taken out of your fingers and you are basically water logged and then afterwards they dry and scaly because you are using all the soap and just basically not a comfortable situation. So I would recommend using some gloves and not just any gloves but these durable yellow rubber gloves. These are more expensive at the store than your average thin Latex gloves but I find they work a lot better. They are a lot better when you are doing more durable housework. So these could even be used when you are washing in the bathroom or something. The point is these are not going to let any water in and they are going to keep your hands nice and protected so you are going to avoid getting dish pan hands. They are actually reusable so unlike Latex gloves where you would probably be tempted to throw them out after one use. These are a lot more permanent and you will conserve energy that way which is something that we always want to try to do.
