Questions & AnswersHi, I'm Marti with expertvillage.com. Today I'm going to show you how to iron a tablecloth. We are going to start by ironing the back of our tablecloth cause I want to add a light starch to it. This is a nice poly cotton blend but I'm going to add a little starch. I'm going to start in the middle and work towards my sides. Again, running up and down with the grain. The reason why you run with the grain is so that you don't distort the shape of the fabric. I'm going to add a little touch of starch to that. This is starch I make myself. It's one part cornstarch one part water,mix them together shake them up and put it in a spray bottle.
