How to Do Standing Abdominal Exercises

This is Katie Bowers with Expert Village and we are working on abs today. I'm going to go ahead and show you some standing up ab exercises for those of you that don't like to lay on the floor; there's a perfect way to do them standing. So what I'm going to do first is going to reach over to the side. You're taking your laundry and throwing it out, that's pretty much what it is. Reach over your side, going to feel that stretch that you're going to feel in your oblique. Reach over and pull it down. Reach and pull. I'm keeping my other foot facing forward, so keep that in mind. You don't want to start shifting your weight or start turning your toes into a different direction. Reach and pull. Reach and pull. And what I want you to eventually be able to do now that we've done a few practicing with that toe touching, do this in a balance. Now my supporting leg, the one that I'm standing on, that needs to stay bent. If you start locking it out, you're going to have some issues and plus you won't be able to balance. Reach and pull. And you're going to feel this right away. Make sure you do this on the other leg, you're going to be lopsided. Reach and pull. Do about fifteen of these. Good job and that's it.
