This is Katie Bowers with Expert Village and we are working on abs. So go ahead and lay onto your back, just walk it out nice and easy. Make sure you have something comfortable to lay on to like a towel or even a yoga mat. And we're going to begin just placing your hands behind your head, this is going to be a simple basic crunch. With my hands behind my head, imagine you have some sort of object. I would say like tennis ball, something that you can imagine that would sit here, maybe an apple in between your chin and your chest so that way you're not caving your chin in each time and that makes you cheat the crunch. So that is something that you want to do. So keeping that head lifted almost as if your chest is opening up and your shoulders are going to lift straight up to the ceiling. So I lift and again this is a simple classic basic crunch that tends to get done incorrectly. A lot of people do this incorrectly or their pulling their neck or their rocking their selves up, It is not about your neck, it's about your abs that you are using your abs, keeping that chin away from your chest. What I'm going to do is work the lower body at the same time. So this is a lower region section, I'm lifting my buns up off the ground. So lift the hips and controlling that crunch, exhaling out each time you crunch up. So inhale on the way down, exhale out when you come up. And again lift those hips up. I'm going to be having you do a lot of these incorporating that lower body, lifting the hips up to the ceiling. It's going to make it that much more challenging, you're going to burn more calories. It's going to be awesome. Deep breath in, exhale out and there you go. So you want to imagine you have a ball of some sort, maybe a tennis ball or something right here in between your chin and your chest. So that tennis ball is not going to allow you to cave your chin into your chest. Don't really put a tennis ball there, it might be able to cause into a crunch but your imagination. So if I have that imaginary ball right here it is going to make it a lot easier.
