Proper Tone for Violin Scales in B Flat

Now we are going to talk about tones. What I mean by that is how you play your sound. How it sounds so that the person in the room is listening to you or just how it sounds to yourself. We want to get the right tone. We don't want to sound too crunchy, we don't want to butcher the violin, we want to play it beautifully okay. So here is a example on how not to play your scale. That is not a good way to play your scales. If you see I was crunching down. Right here your bow hand, all this has to be loose. All of it, your fingers, your wrist, everything has to be loose or else you are not going to get the sound that you want. You can't be ripping the bow like that. But you don't want to play like this either too gently. That is not good either you have to have some sort of pressure on the string. So this is how you should play.
