How to Change the Grid in Logic Pro 8

The next thing I'm going to show you how to do is how to change the grid. Now, the grid is basically what keeps everything in time and it shows you your position within your song by the bar, or the sample. Whatever you choose to use. I'm going to show you how to choose that exact setting. Right here on the right side you're going to see a marquee strip. This is going to let you choose how the marquee strip actually keeps your time within the, you can keep by the time or by both. See the bar and time actually keeps the time at the top and also keeps the bar at the bottom so you can keep the measures the way you are, but you always know that you're, you know this many seconds within the song or this minute within the song. You can also go to view, hit grid. This will take off the grid and turn the grid back on. Depending on how close the grid is it's going to show you different lines and different things like that. Usually if you have the smart bar it's definitely going to, it's going to make it so it snaps to the nearest bar or half a bar or quarter bar or thing like that. So, it definitely helps you out a lot. You can change all the, how close you are with the scroller bars too. So, you can see the whole project.
