Creating Atmosphere for Home Lighting

My name is Brent Shelly with Expert Village and we are talking about lighting designs. It is a good way as a rule of thumb to make sure that you are thinking about the layers. The last one would be accent. What are the visual cues in the space such as art work. Those you really want to pop and you want to light them at a higher level than you would have the general lighting layer so that your eyes naturally goes to those visual cues in a space. They can be furniture, they can be a wall that you want to graze such as a stack stone wall that creates a lot of drama. It could be art work in a space. It could be horizontal surfaces or vertical surfaces. It is up to you to determine in working with the interior designer or architect. Or if you are a home owner and trying to do it yourself, just think about what you would want to see when you walk into a space.
